The Oster Professional 76023-510 has a unique Fast Feed Clipper with an adjustable blade that allows you to cut from a range of lengths from close to medium. There are 4 guide combs that comes with Oster Professional 76023-510. There isn’t much need for me to use all 4 blades in one session but having the choice to do so is nice. This is a quality clipper with really sharp blades (be careful!). It’s a nice gadget to have around the house for trimming not just your beard but your hair. Yes, this clipper can be used exclusively for beards although after trying it, you’ll want to test it on your head too!

Although I prefer showering after a trim, the Oster Professional 76023-510 works well on wet hair and can be used after a shower. The build of this clipper is marvelous. It’s designed with a solid body that’s red and has a 12 amp pivot motor which is double the power of most clippers available in the market, which only run on a 8 amp motor.

There are times when you just know that you had made a good investment just by looking at the product. The cord is nice and thick, the body of Oster Professional 76023-510 is robust and has a good grip. The blades are sharp and well made, they look like they’ll last a long time. The Oster Professional 76023-510 isn’t heavy but it isn’t light either. I sometimes wish that the cord would be a little lighter making it easier to use, but if that means less durability or power, I’d rather Oster Professional 76023-510 stay as it is.

This clipper seems like something you will spot at professional hair salons. If you are the type who needs a complete set of attachments to try out new hair or beard styles now and then, I would suggest purchasing the Oster 10 Piece Universal Comb Set to make this clipper set more complete. But less is more and I find that the attachments that come with the clipper are more than enough for my needs.

One thing that needs improvement for the Oster Professional 76023-510 is the quality of the trimmer guards. They aren’t really spectacular. First of all, they are not very long to start with – the longest one is at 1/4″. Another thing that Oster could have done to make this set more complete is the inclusion of a case for the entire set. I would have like a hard case to house all the accessories and attachments, instead of using a substitute cardboard box for it.

But if I were to choose between having a solid clipper with no box or a dodgy one with a nice case, I’d definitely choose the former without question. Oster makes good clippers – period. This clipper is easy to maintain and for the looks of it, will last me a long time and save me lots of money in the long run. The Oster Professional 76023-510 is quite hard to beat for the price and its workmanship. A worthy addition if you already have a beard trimmer and am now looking for a backup or something to use for your hair.
